All area codes where I live are 604. Rogers cell phone network users have the area code 778.Why do cell phone users with the Rogers network have a different area code?
We recently had to do this in southern ontario. A new area code had to be created. However, it wasn't restricted to just Rogers.
I work for Rogers, and as far as I know, there are no area codes restricted to just one cell phone company.
It's the CRTC that regulates the release of area codes, not the providers.
