Should the US and Canada recognize each other's area codes as Domestic rather than International Calls?

It must suck for someone in Detroit trying to call someone else in say, Windsor, to do business.

It'd be great if Canadian area codes here were considered 'domestic' for billing rates.Should the US and Canada recognize each other's area codes as Domestic rather than International Calls?
If someone is stupid enough to still be using a traditional landline they deserve to be ripped off.

I use ....... Free long distance anywhere in the US or Canada and about 1/3rd the cost of my old phone.
'nancy' that's a tall order, but metaphorically it would be nice.

You have to remember that conservative republicans own all of these phone companies, or at least most all of them.

You're not going to get a nickel out of them without paying them a dime to get it !!

One of your posters mentioned 'free long distance' - that'll be the day !! LOLShould the US and Canada recognize each other's area codes as Domestic rather than International Calls?
Why is this a political issue? Seems it's something for the TELCO's to work out. Needs to be posted in some other forum. The only thing the governments need to work out is any international connection fees.Should the US and Canada recognize each other's area codes as Domestic rather than International Calls?
Well, they are seperate countries, so no. But perhaps if you live on the border, the next town over should be considered local, even if it's over the border I think. idk...that's a tricky one.
You can afford it, Nancy.
just annex yourselves already...

Canada,A Real Country?
They are local calls with IP phones.
I didn't realize anyone was still using that ancient stuff.
I use a cell phone with free long distance.
Wow, I was just thinking this very same thing! Okay, no I wasn't.
Um...since they are separate COUNTRIES..... no.
Do you like corn ?
