It doesn't cost extra to call a landline with a cell phone; however, it WILL use your minutes up depending on the time you call. Also IF you are outside of your coverage area and are "Roaming" then there will be a fee of a per minute usage plus long distance fee. Please check your coverage area; more than likely you're calling from part of the HUGE AT%26amp;T network and will not have to worry with this.
Now if you call during your Nights %26amp; Weekend minutes, it will not use your minutes up.
Typically nights begin after 9pm and go to 6am on AT%26amp;T - unless you pay more to have earlier nights.
Also, if you have a plan that includes the A List - you can add up to 5 numbers, be it landline or non- AT%26amp;T mobile lines, and that will not cost you ANY minutes to call them. Family plans you can add the A List feature and it will give you up to 10 numbers. If you do not have this, check it out online at AT%26amp;T or go into your local store!!
Here's the link for more information about AT%26amp;T's A List feature/service

Good Luck!!Does it cost extra to call a landline with a cell phone and have different area codes?
All calls in the US on AT%26amp;T are the same as a local call...
