Does verizon wireless charge extra for calling diffrent area codes other than your own?

I have verizon and my friend has T-mobile. He lives in Utah and i'm in Pennyslvania. does verizon charge extra for calling? also is it still charged if you have free nights/weekends?Does verizon wireless charge extra for calling diffrent area codes other than your own?
All Verizon plans are nationwide and treat local and long distance calls identically - you just use minutes. Calls to US numbers during free nights and weekends are not charged against your monthly plan minutes.
That's called long distance. Their web page should say what the rates are. Nowadays I think all cell phone carriers have nationwide calling at no extra cost, but I could be wrong.Does verizon wireless charge extra for calling diffrent area codes other than your own?
No cell phones with Verizon have no roaming or long distance as long as you are calling from and to the US, so you could call Alaska if you wanted using just regular minutes.Does verizon wireless charge extra for calling diffrent area codes other than your own?
