Cell phones and area codes question?

I was wondering if it's possible to have a cell phone number with an out-of-state area code...

For example Xane lives in California and his cell phone number has an Alabama area code.

I know it's possible if somebody has recently moved, but what if that person has lived in California for his whole life and just gets a new number?

So, is this possible or not?Cell phones and area codes question?
yes of course, usually if you go through a carrier they can ask you what area code you want etc, or you can buy like a cheap *** prepaid phone from att or boost mobile, and when u enter in your address they give u an area code based on where ur home address is, then u can post over that number onto your regular carrier free of charge.Cell phones and area codes question?
