somebody keeps calling me from the area code 501 and i know that's the area code of little rock, arkansas or something like that but i'm not totally sure it could be that. my friend lives in renton but has the area code 801 which is also salt lake city, utah's area code. does anyone know if 501 is a washington state area code?Area codes?

Originally 501 covered the entire state of Arkansas. Today it serves just the central portion of the state, including Little Rock. There are two other Arkansas area codes at present: 479 and 870.
The state of Washington is currently served by five area codes:
206 Seattle %26amp; surrounding area
253 Tacoma %26amp; area
425 Everett, Bellevue, etc.
360 The rest of the western part of the state not covered by the above.
509 The entire eastern portion of the state, inc. Yakima, Spokane, etc.
